The museumOrth invites you to look through the times of the market town Orth an der Donau!

The museum is located in the Castle of Orth , On the 2^nd floor with an area of about 700sqm. The basic idea for the museumORTH is to create an idea of the town and its community "Photo Album" for all generations and people that are interested.
The staging area pursues the principle of a visual information medium, as a three dimentional "photo magazine".

Also for children there is much to see, especially in the children's corner, where there are many small stools carved from wood that hide secrets, which the children can discover.

In the north-west tower, 2-3 times a year changing exhibitions are held. With the active support of Orth´s beekeeping association, there is presented a swarm of living bees in a showcase, with a trip hole in the tournament yard.

Mag Hilde Fuchs, native from Orth, developed the concept for the new museumORTH. Extensive research on the castle and settlement history conducted by Annemarie Täubling also native from Orth. The preparation of structural change during the last 45 years was developed by Dr. Roman Horak, cultural sociologist also native to Orth.

The Orth Museum Association, which has been responsible for many years for the museum, heavily involved in the growing of the new museum, with many volunteer hours worked in the creation of the new museum which will continue to operate with great commitment.
